Students who attended the Cranbourne Battle of the Bands

Cranbourne Battle of the Bands

It was a great pleasure to accompany the Junior Band (Black Pearl) and Senior Band (Flying Orchestra) to the Battle of the Bands Competition in Cranbourne on Wednesday, 23rd of July. It was all there: Marshall stacks, guitar solos that go til lunchtime, t-shirts of Iron Maiden / Gun’n’Roses, amplifiers that go to eleven and all of the usual clichés of rock bands. While a great band from Langwarrin eventually won, our students did a great job and embraced the day with energy and enthusiasm.

Sports Excursion Uniform

The following proposal has been passed by staff and will go to School Council at their next meeting. ‘Students to wear a school top for all sports excursions, for example, school jumper, school shirt or PE top. Students may wear tracksuit pants or shorts. No thongs or singlets are permitted. Students who do not follow this Sport Uniform Policy will not be able to attend the event.’ I will keep parents informed of the outcome of the School Council decision.

PAC Stage Curtains

It was my pleasure last Friday to invite Wayne Harley, from Harley’s Bus Lines to visit the school to inspect the newly installed stage curtains in our Performing Arts Centre. Harley’s Bus proprietors, Wayne and Noelle Harley have donated $8,000 to the college during the past two years to assist fund this major project. We are most appreciative of their generous contribution to ensure that our PAC is equipped with fittings and fixtures of the highest possible standard.
