Respectful Relationships

The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program is a whole school approach to reducing gender-based violence. The program includes a curriculum component, completed in ACE and Health classes, and a whole of school program that incorporates the way we behave and our values.

Respectful Relationships was an initiative created in response to the 2015 Royal Commission into Family Violence. The program has been running in State Schools since 2016 and is now mandated in all Government Schools.

KSC has been a lead-school in the implementation of Respectful Relationships since 2019, and a partner school between 2016 and 2019. In this capacity we have provided staff training to all staff at KSC, and for staff of our local Primary Schools.

We regularly recognise days of significance, including Wear It Purple Day, Pride Month and IDAHOBIT Day with activities lead by our student Diversity Group. Further, we collaborate with other organisations in our community to run educational forums and recognise significant events such as the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
