As Principal of Korumburra Secondary College I welcome you to our learning community.

We are a school that that values and respects young people and their families, a school that has high expectations of students’ academic and social achievements and a school that provides a broad range of opportunities in which young people can grow personally and academically.

One of the biggest challenges for schools today is how do we prepare students to be confident, happy and productive members of our community in a world that is constantly changing. Our future world is arguably less certain than in the past which means that young people will be required to solve problems we don’t yet know about, take on careers in fields that are not yet imagined, and face emerging issues concerning the environment, the use of technology, and the processes of  globalisation. This is in addition to developing the social and emotional capabilities required to negotiate modern life.

To achieve this our school is committed to providing engaging opportunities for our students to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to be successful in the world that we live in now and in the future.

At Korumburra Secondary College we are designing our curriculum programs in Years 7 to 10 to do that. Our aim is to nurture in our students a love of learning, a curiosity about the world in which they live, and the capacity to be resilient, self-motivated and independent learners.

We give our students many opportunities to expand their horizons through enrichment programs in the classroom, in the community and in the world of work.

Our VCE program offers a wide choice of subjects that respond to student interests and career directions. Students have opportunities to enrich their senior studies with Vocational Education and Training programs and early start VCE studies.

Thankyou for your interest in our College.
